What does the One-way traffic sign mean?

Traffic on this road may only travel in the direction of the arrow. Choose your lane early, as traffic may pass on both sides.

Also known as: One-way street sign, One way sign

What it means

The road is one-way, in the direction of the arrow. You must not drive against it.

In a one-way street, traffic could pass you on both sides. Unless signs or markings say otherwise, use the left lane to turn left, the right lane to turn right and the most suitable lane to go straight on.

Buses or cycles may have a contraflow lane running the other way, so look out for them.
